OSS is a stainless steel smelting integration project with an annual capacity of 2.5 million tons, developed by Xiangyu Group in Southeast Sulawesi Province, Indonesia, since 2017. The project has been included in the list of key projects under China’s Belt and Road Initiative by the National Development and Reform Commission of China, as well as in the list of national strategic projects by the Indonesian government. The company has built a stainless steel smelting plant, a coal-fired power plant, a multipurpose terminal, port access roads, general supporting facilities, and other essential infrastructure for living support. As a result, a foreign economic and trade cooperation enterprise has been established, integrating mineral resource development, production and smelting, advanced processing, and port logistics.
